Standard Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS touch panels are available in 3.5″, 4.3″, 5.7″, 7.0″, 10.1″, 10.4″, 12.1″, 15.6″, 17.0″ and 18.5″ sizes. Providing all the benefits of Crystal Touch projected capacitive technology, the Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS also comes standard with a pre-integrated, optically bonded soda-lime cover glass which adds durability and is ready to be incorporated into touch driven devices.

Crystal Touch projected capacitive touch panels increase optical clarity while providing a durable touch interface that can withstand extreme environments and will not deform over time. The all-glass construction of Crystal Touch provides a smooth and scratch resistant surface that can be incorporated into zero-bezel designs and keeps out dirt and debris that could otherwise enter the device.


Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS comes standard with a soda-lime cover glass that is optically bonded directly to the touch sensor. The additional layer of glass makes Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS even more durable and is easily incorporated into zero-bezel designs. Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS reduces design time because they arrive tuned for optimum performance with cover glass use and are ready to be integrated into touch controlled devices.

Standard Crystal Touch products are available with a PCB board that features the TRUE multi-touch controller and six of the standard size PLUS panels are available as Chip on Flex (COF) assemblies: the controller is integrated on the FPC as opposed to an additional board.

TRUE multi-touch interfaces increase functionality and are ideal for collaborative work, allowing for multiple people to benefit from the same touch device simultaneously. With up to 16 simultaneous touch points, Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS projected capacitive touch panels have the sophistication to identify and disregard unintended touches.

If a pre-integrated cover glass is not required, the top layer of Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch panels can also serve as the touch screen surface of devices.

Ocular also offers additional product enhancements through Customization and Design services, such as optical bonding. This technology takes an already durable Ocular product and adds the technology of DuPont™ Vertak® to increase sunlight readability, impact resistance, durability and scratch resistance.

Ocular’s Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS is an application ready, projected capacitive touch panel and controller that come standard with an optically bonded cover glass. Standard panels feature a soda-lime cover glass bonded to a Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch panel that is specifically designed for cover glass use. The additional layer of glass provides increased durability and is easily integrated into devices featuring a touch screen interface. Standard Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS panels are also available with the controller integrated onto a PCB or as a Chip on Flex (COF) assembly, featuring the controller and corresponding chips on the flex cable, allowing for more design flexibility.

Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS utilizes TRUE multi-touch functionality by offering up to 16 simultaneous touch points and has the sophistication to identify and disregard unintended touches. Crystal Touch projected capacitive touch panels are made from capacitive glass that can withstand extreme environments and a wide range of temperatures: operating temperatures range from -20° to 80°C and storage temperatures range from -30° to 80°C.

In addition to extreme temperatures, Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS panels are ruggedized and can handle abrasive cleaners, preventing any damage that may be caused if interaction with harsh chemicals occurs.

Projected Capacitive Coupling is provided by Crystal Touch: TRUE Multi-Touch PLUS and panels have a resolution of 4096 x 4096, a fast sampling rate of 100 Hz, (10 ms per scan), auto calibration and is not restricted to just touch; panels will also work with a stylus.
