Optical bonding enhances a display product’s clarity, durability and performance in extreme environmental conditions. Ocular has teamed with DuPont Display Enhancements and has licensed the use of DuPont™ Vertak® optical adhesive to provide optical bonding of touch panel products, displays or cover lenses. This process is available for a wide array of screen sizes and display types.

Utilizing DuPont™ Vertak® Direct Bonding Display Technology can increase sunlight readability, impact resistance, durability to shock and vibration and increase scratch resistance. In addition, DuPont™ Vertak® eliminates the air gap between the bonded layers, creating a thinner and lighter display design. Eliminating the air gap also prevents condensation and fogging caused by humidity and the adhesive resists stains, dirt, dust, scratches and moisture.

Other optical bonding services, including dry bonding, are also available at Ocular. Since we do not manufacture TFTs, many customers consign their preferred TFTs to us in order for the touch panel to be bonded immediately once it is built by Ocular. This eliminates the need for customers to send the touch panel and TFT to a third-party vendor for bonding. We offer this service for DuPont™ Vertak® bonded items as well as dry bonded stack-ups, whichever is required for the product design.
