Associate Project Manager

Ocular LCD, Inc. is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support the company’s product development and project management activities. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Associate Project Manager will work in a collaborative partnership with the functional staff to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet customer requirements.

The Associate Project Manager will have responsibility for providing management and oversight support for key projects within Ocular. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, managing program technical execution and maintaining performance metrics for management review. This includes managing costs (non-recurring and recurring), schedules and technical and quality performance of the overall engineering development activities.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for project administration and support.
  • Ensure that milestones are achieved on-time and on-budget.
  • Actively work with the product engineers in the functional organizations to ensure that all aspects of the development process are accomplished in accordance with the approved supporting processes.
  • Effectively lead project-level scope alignment and change management.
  • Lead the project-level schedule as well as the integrated intermediate level schedule.
  • Ensure critical path and key dependencies are effectively managed to ensure project success.
  • Review detail execution plans and schedules from the team/Design Engineers to ensure adequacy, completeness, and harmonization with the project plan and integrated intermediate level schedule.
  • Lead teams to ensure critical dependencies are managed by the team.
  • Lead and manage customer communication.
  • Suggest all possible actions to avoid or minimize problem areas. Anticipate problems and if necessary, proactively revise project plans as permitted by policy and project requirements.
  • Coordinate and track deliveries (equipment, documentation, etc.) to the project and customer during the development phase.
  • Conduct project review meetings with Design Engineers.
  • Report overall program engineering performance to plan as appropriate.
  • Plan, schedule and arrange own activities in accomplishing objectives.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline.
  • 1-2 years of professional project management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project and Visio.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in remote team management is a plus.
  • Engineering and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Customer interface experience is a plus.

Must be a US citizen or have a valid work permit.
